NOTE -New Meeting Location - Williams Trace Baptist Church on Sweetwater Blvd

Greetings! Please consider this your personal invitation to join the Fort Bend County Alumnae Panhellenic Association for 2006-2007. With only a few meetings a year, this is the best and easiest opportunity to participate with other Greek women in promoting college sororities for our area high school graduates. Our membership represents the majority of the 26 national sororities, and you do not have to be a member of a local alumna group to participate in Panhellenic.

This year we are meeting at Williams Trace Baptist Church on Sweetwater Blvd. and the Southwest Freeway in room 222. To get to the church from the Southwest Freeway, take the Sweetwater Exit from either direction, and turn right onto Town Center Blvd. Follow the street past the Kroger shopping center and drive all the way back to the far end of the church and park in the lot by the porte-cochere. The doors there will be open and there is an elevator that will take you up to the 2nd floor. We will continue to meet at 6:30 pm for those who want to enjoy refreshments or just socialize, and our meeting will officially begin at 7:00. Please invite all of your sorority alumna friends to attend.

At our September 11 meeting we will present the results of 2006 Recruitment, for which we currently have more than 100 girls registered. Our Fall Scholarship Fundraiser is our Greek Gift Mart with joeToga, located at 11579 Wilcrest. This event is ongoing through September 30, 2006. Please watch for your green flyer with more information about this, or email Cathy Neben at joetoga.com. You will find great welcome gifts for our new pledges, as well as holiday and birthday gifts.

November 6 is our “Make It, Bake It, or Fake It” holiday fundraiser, when members create or purchase an item for our silent auction. We would love to have everyone participate! At the January 8 meeting we will finalize details for the Recruitment Workshop and collect toiletries to donate to the Women’s Center.

Our yearly Recruitment Workshop , occurring at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2007, at Christ United Methodist Church, will educate college-bound women on the Recruitment process and offer scholarships. All members are encouraged to be available to help with this highly successful Recruitment education program. On April 16, we will install new officers and discuss the Recruitment Workshop.

If you haven’t yet paid your dues, you can pay at the September 11 meeting or print out and mail this form . If you would like to make a donation to our scholarship fund, you can include this with your dues and designate it “Scholarship Fund.” Please save this annual newsletter, mark your calendars and join us. Reminder postcards and emails are sent only to dues-paying members, so be sure to send your dues if you are unable to join us in September! Annual dues help pay for the Recruitment Workshop, and your contributions are greatly appreciated. Also please visit our Web site at www.fortbendpanhellenic.org.
